In this course we will take a detailed look at some of the most important philosophers in human history. Rather than focus on particular themes that philosophers will investigate, we will instead look to understand the general approach a philosopher takes to a wide array of issues. The philosophers discussed vary, but among the “greats” to be covered are Aristotle, Plato, Descartes, Spinoza, Hume, Kant, and Heidegger.
